Cookies and Dreams

I started a lot of books (7, to be exact) that I couldn't be stuffed finishing, so they went back into my TBR shelf.
I also devoured a huge array of cookbooks this month, taking over most of my free reading time.
I've officially read over 50 cookbooks/food books (and I do mean *read*, cover to cover) this year. You'd think I'd pick up how to cook somewhere along the way, huh?

I've made okay progress with my TBR pile, and I'm getting ready to post better reviews on my other blog when I get around to it.

April is the best month of them all. You know why? Because it's my birthday, of course! And this year was special. I have now officially entered the "Don't ask me my age" age. And that's something to be proud of.

Uni went back for those that still are lucky enough to be students (nooo, the student bug isn't biting me again... hard). March also meant a lot of editing, and the start of a new project. But mainly editing. Lots and lots and lots of editing.

Well, this month was Conference Month. So while my TBR pile has grown to astronomical proportions, I thought not all that much reading would be accomplished. And then I broke a bone and writing came to a standstill.

Sometimes, I feel like sucha book glutton. You know. I'd happily not do anything else but read, read, read. I put a million books on hold in the library, schlepp them all home, and *read*.

June's been a busy month with more immigration stuff to handle, a Blaze to pitch and a ski trip to plan. Oh, and I did some writing somewhere in there, too.
But (all int he name of reasearch) I sacrificed myself to curl up with some hot, stamy Blazes. Oh, the hardship. ^_-

You'd think that cold weather would mean more reading done, wouldn't you?
Instead, I did a lot of study, which means reading a lot of online articles, taking courses, and listening to my RWA files.
Also, I've been listening to about 20 short stories in podiobook format. I'm not a huge fan of short stories in general, but they're nice little bits when you just don't have time for anything else.

Autumn has come early to Melbourne this year. I don't mind at all. The joy of library books meant lots of goodies to keep my mind off immigration issues. This month needed a lot of laughter. thus, it became Crusie month.
